Dear Bernhard family, I send my love and prayers to all of you. Patty was such a warm, happy and giving person. She always had a smile on her face. I so appreciated you, Howie and Patty for opening up your heart and home to all those kids almost every weekend. May you feel the comfort and peace of God.

We have many fond memories of Patty with her family. She always had a fun story to share and her smile could light up the room. Patty was kind and encouraging to all of us around her. Her family meant the world to her and she treated all of her friends as if they were family. God Bless You Patty, we love you!

Dearest Howard, and family,
My deepest sympathy! I loved her beautiful smile, oh how it would light up a room! She was truly one of the kindest person I’ve ever met. My heart is broken for you Howard, and the rest of the family… But oh what a celebration in heaven… That beautiful smile radiating from above…
Prayers,

My 2nd grade, 7th, and 8th grade teacher. A wonderful and sweet woman. Such a good role model to the youth group at Oakland. Will be sadly missed by many. Prayers to Howard and the family.

While I did not spend much time knowing her as an adult, as Secretary of the High School she sent my transcripts to Potential Employers over the years, but I will always remember her as the little girl riding the bus to elementary school with us.

Patty and I were at Wittenberg together - she was a senior, I was a freshman. Once when my mother had picked us both up to come home for the weekend, the back tire fell off our car. She and I bounced around in the back seat. Fortunately we didn't flip or get injured. I don't think she ever rode home with me again!
God's blessings be with you all as you grieve. Rest eternal grant her, O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon her.
