Dwight Allen Woodson

Dwight Allen Woodson, 63, of Taylors, SC, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at his home.
Born October 26, 1957 in Baltimore, he was a self-made man. He joined the army at 17 and was sent to Eastern Europe to patrol the Iron Curtain. He used his time there in the Army and in Europe to grow into a man who was tough but compassionate, responsible, and capable. Upon arriving back in the USA he went to school to become a welder and then worked in the shipyards building nuclear submarines. He continued his education and experience to rise to the top of his field through inspection and writing procedures. As a Quality Control/Quality Assurance Representative for Major Oil Field Construction Firms he travelled the world from the Arctic Circle in Alaska to the Equator in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. He settled in central Florida where he met his wife Cynthia in 1990, and resided there until the couple moved to the Greenville, South Carolina area in 2016.
He is survived by his wife Cynthia, his son Allen Joseph Woodson; step daughter, April Sanders; two stepsons, James and Michael Jon Stevens; four sisters, Joann Emery, Brenda Kessinger, Margaret Boyd, and Shirley Flanders; a brother, Anthony Beaulac; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Services will be private. He will be laid to rest at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson, SC.
