Jacquelyn was very proud of her education. At 16 years old, she graduated as Valedictorian at Parker High School in Greenville, and then earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of South Carolina in Columbia. Later in life, she earned her master’s degree from Clemson University. Jacquelyn began her career as a teacher for Greenville County Public Schools before establishing her career at Greenville Technical College, retiring as Head of Adult Reading after 35 years with the college.
Most importantly, Jacquelyn was the rock of her family, a loving mother, and a dedicated friend.
Surviving are her children: Linda Wilson, Laura Brown (Mike), John Wham, and Rhett Lumsden; her grandchildren: Stephanie Martin (Chris), Natalie Brown, Kali Wilson, Chloe Wham, and Richie Wham; her great-grandchildren: Maddie Martin, Charlotte Martin, and Chloe Martinez; and her brother, Terry Cline (Shirley).
She was preceded in death by her son, Rick Wham.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 11:00am in the Chapel at Mackey Funerals and Cremations on Century Drive.
