Lonnie M. Barker, 85, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2011 in his home near Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a licensed journeyman plumber, and a Deacon of the First Baptist Church in Greenwood, Arkansas.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, April 18, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Greenwood with interment at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
Survivors include his wife Margaret “Amy” Barker of the home; a son, Les Barker and wife, Jan, of Fort Smith; two daughters, Marsha Crosby and husband, Bob, of Livonia, MI and Beverly Hover and husband, Jim, of New Hudson, MI; two brothers, Denver Barker of Rainelle, WV and Phillip Barker and wife, Alberta, of New Berlin, PA; eight grandchildren, Tyler Hover, Stacy Malik and husband Mark, Chad Crosby and wife Nicole, Whitney Wasielewski and husband Greg, Brady Crosby and wife Lauren, Benjamin Barker and wife Flor, Joseph Barker and wife Jennifer, and Jessica Irgens and husband Shane; and ten great grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 1:00 to 9:00 P.M., Sunday at the funeral home where the family will be represented at all times.
