M. LaVern Conaway-Baum, 96, of Mansfield passed away peacefully on Friday, February 8, 2019 in Fort Smith. She was born the youngest of six on March 27, 1922 in Poteau, Oklahoma to Ed and Mattie Kinard.

She is survived by a daughter, Illa Coleman and husband, Roy of Fort Smith; sons, Vernon Conaway, Jr. and wife, Erin of Van Buren and Ken Baum and wife, Jeanie of Michigan; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and husband, Jay Baum.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 13 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Huntington Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Wednesday beginning at 1 p.m. before the service.
