Betty Jane Fennell

Betty Jane Fennell passed away peacefully on January 22, 2023, at the age of 95, in St. Clair Shores. She was born in Detroit on March 19, 1927, to Martin and Edna (nee Dessinger) Moschina. Betty was predeceased by her loving husband of almost 70 years, John N. Fennell Sr. Together, they raised five loving children: Betty (Earl) Rondy, John N. (Charlotte) Fennell Jr., Linda (Mark) Dunn, Janet (Thomas) Riopelle and Martin (Kelly) Fennell. She was a proud grandmother of 11: John P. (Tracey) Fennell, Victoria (Jeffrey) Moore, Christina (Frank) Broquet, Mark (Gabriella) Dunn, Thomas (Jennifer) Riopelle, Kevin (Meredith) Dunn, Justin Gronos, Lindsay (Casey) Waller, Brian Dunn, Emily (Paul) Schwartz and Michael Fennell. And a proud great-grandmother of 11: Evan, Alex, Matthew, Brendan, Kyle, Quinten, Jake, Harper, Rowan, Westen and Ethan. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Betty’s life revolved around family. She loved spending time with family, especially when all could gather. And she loved attending various sports and other functions to see her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in action. She will be missed by her extended family and many friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 25th, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Road in Grosse Pointe Woods. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Betty will lie instate on Thursday, January 26th from 9:30 am until the time of Mass of the Resurrection at 10:00 am at St. Joan of Arc Church, 22412 Overlake St. in St. Clair Shores. Betty will be buried next to her beloved John at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township. Memorial contributions may be made in Betty’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association (act.alz.org), to provide care and support to families impacted by this terrible disease and accelerate research for a cure.
