Doris M. Parrish

Doris M. Parrish 84, formerly of Waukegan, passed away February 13, 2011 at Highland Park Nursing and Rehabilitation. Born in Chicago on February 14, 1926 to the late Robert and Dorothy Harrison. Graduated high school in Chicago. She was employed at retail stores and retired from Great Lakes Naval Exchange as a department manager in 1981. Hobbies included travelling, crocheting and knitting. She donated many scarves, slippers, hats and blankets to area nursing homes and children. She was an active member of Park Place Seniors facilitating numerous trips to casinos up north along with her very dear friend Margaret Sutinis. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Clyde Parrish in 1999 and a great grandson in 1998 Michael Chew. She is survived by her son Gil (Casey) Farrow, three grandchildren Jenifer, Sharon and David one great granddaughter Joy Chew, her caring friends Bear, Ali, Tiny, and Ben.
