Nestor Erese Leal, 63, of Lake Villa, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2020. Nestor was born January 20, 1957 in Santa Fe, Zambales, Philippines to Jaime Sr. and Rosalina Leal. Nestor is survived by his wife of 44 years, Normalita; four children, Neslie (Mark) Feltz, Novelle Henriques, Jeffrey Leal and Michelle (Pierre) Perez; 16 grandchildren, Jesser, Caspen, Ledomer, Catherine, Kaitlin, Kaylie, Wilbur, Stanley, Alexander, Ciarra, Arnold, Audric, Albert, Lucas, Vivienne, Harmony; mother, Rosalina Leal; five siblings, Helenita (Nestor) Garcia, Nerissa (Gerardo) Sujede, Cleofe (Walter) Delacruz, Divina (Daniel Jr) Ramirez and Jaime Jr. (Vanessa) Leal; sister-in-law, Aurora Leal; and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Jaime Sr.; two siblings, Reynaldo and Ely (the late Consolacion) Leal. Nestor was a loving husband, a very supportive father who spoiled all his children and a doting grandfather. His grandchildren adored him.

He enjoyed traveling and watching boxing and shows on HGTV as a pastime.

Nestor was an active member of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ). He was the 2nd Head Deacon in the Local Congregation of Great Lakes. He devoted his life in performing his duties at church and in helping with the needs of the local and the brethren. At church, he always wore his beautiful and contagious smile that greeted the brethren. As a mechanic, he enjoyed serving others and went out of his way to help everyone by fixing their cars during his free time. He was hardworking and there was a constant line of people at his garage during his days off. There was always laughter and funny jokes going around his shop and people always came back because of the quality of his work, his friendliness and his genuine kindness. Visitations for Nestor will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, October 26, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N Cemetery Rd, Gurnee, IL 60031. On behalf of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) Great Lakes Local congregation family nation, we extend our sincerest and deep condolences to the Leal family on the passing of our beloved Brother Nestor Leal. The Leal family arrived in the Great Lakes Local congregation in 1996 and was a staple in the progress and growth of the congregation at both the old chapel location in Waukegan and in the present chapel location in Lindenhurst. Brother Nestor was a very kind and gentle person. He was the 2nd Head Deacon of the Great Lakes Local congregation and proudly served his holy duty until the very end. Brother Nestor was adored and loved by all.
To the Leal family, we continue to pray for your strength in this trying time. May God continue to uphold you and bless you with comfort and peace in your heart.
Love,
Brother Lysander (Lee) Garcia

My favorite memory of Ka Nestor was when I went to their house for an oil change. I went there, gave him the oil and filter, and while he’s working on my car, Ka Norms fed me sopas. Ka Nestor didn’t take my payment and I even came back to get the left over oil. After that, I didn’t want to come back because I felt embarrassed.

But of course I came back. Countless times. For oil changes, car maintenance and Ka Normie’s sopas :-)

He also gave me multiple rides to my workplace and to church back in the day when I didn’t know how to drive.

He never asked anything in return. He’s just happy to help out.

Our whole family will miss him and will remember his kindness, his willingness to help and his generosity.
