February 19, 1938 – July 7, 2021
Joyce passed away at the age of 83, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family -- her children Larry (and his wife Nina) Selmonsky, Jill (Selmonsky) Janowski (and husband Seffi Janowski), and Jodi (Selmonsky) Conti (and partner David Waldes), and her five grandchildren.
Joyce was passionate about her family and especially her grandchildren -- Justin Conti, Evan Conti, Jake Janowski, Jordan Janowski and Natalie Janowski. A devoted grandmother, Joyce was always there for her young grandchildren, showing up with an ever-present helping hand or cooking a favorite meal, inventing a clever game or silly story, or generally offering up her special ability to cheer people up and make them laugh. She always encouraged her grandchildren to be true to themselves, to find their passions and make the most of them, do their best in school, and most importantly, to "copy the good, not the bad," that they see around them in the world.
Joyce grew up in Midwood, Brooklyn and raised her family in Howard Beach, Queens, where she lived for 55 years.

Aunt Joyce was always a light in my life. I remember her visiting us when I was growing up in California and spending time in our pool laughing and having a great time. I cherished spending time with her at her place in Howard Beach. She always brought joy to me with her stories and fun loving ways. She was a great woman and a good listener. I will miss her greatly.
