My wife and best friend was the most selfless person I have ever met. She embodied beauty, intelligence, compassion and love for people that graced her path.
For me she was my best friend and soulmate, the dream I had wished for all of my life. We shared a love unlike any other, we enjoyed being with each other doing just about anything, we confided in each other and we both knew how much our love ran deep.
We had almost 10 years, if I only I had more time.
When she fell ill I promised her I would move heaven and earth to find ways to extend her life and leave her with the least pain. My love for Michele was unconditional, we blended families and made memories to last a life time.
I promised her that when the time came I would walk her to the door leaving this planet but to promise to be with her again.
My mother came to me after she passed, her simple words were I have her Ian and she is okay. Rest easy darling, we will see each other again. All my love until the end of time

The first time I met Mrs. Mordkoff, I knew she was going to be a great teacher. She taught us so many fun things and had fun ways of teaching us. I'm so happy I got to see her on her birthday. My friends and I stopped by to bring her a card and she invited us in. That meant so much to us. We are very sad and sorry for her family. We miss her dearly.

My mom and Michele's Mom Iris have been friends since they were kids. Needles to say the Wolk and the mordkoff families have been in the Lewis family's lives now for 3 generations... .

Some of my fondest memories of being a kid were spending time with Michele, Glenn and Brian and of course Doc and Iris.

I can also confirm the incident involving the first girl to ever kiss me occurred when i was about a year old. She was about a year older. It occured in Shorehaven and there is a home movie out there somewhere that will confirm this...this girl became the woman, the mother, the lawyer, the teacher we all loved so much.

I was a fellow adoptee of Louise Weiss, Michele and I shared that bond into our adult years. Her zeal and advocacy in her last years to bring "justice" to adoptees was beyond words. I remember when she called me to ask advice when she suspected she had a twin. She needed no advice. She was on the search full throttle. We all know the results and I am so happy she found her sister.

We will miss you Michele, and your smile and your zeal for life my dear friend.

To Ian, the boys, your brothers and sister, Doc and Iris, you will always be part of our family and we will always be here for you.

Michele was my best friend. She had the gift of always making me smile...just because. I would go somewhere with her and she was just selfless. She would figure out a way to make everyone smile. She just had the knack. She was so special!

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Michele when she was my daughter Julia’s 2nd grade teacher at Lafayette Elementary for the first half of the year. I remember my daughter crying when I picked her up from school on Mrs. Mordkoff’s last day because she was going to miss her so much. Now, at 24. Julia still refers to her as one of her favorite teachers. My good fortune continued as I would run into Michele in town and through mutual friends. She always had a kind word, infectious smile and remembered Julia no matter how many years passed. We are blessed to have known her and are terribly saddened by her passing. May your family find peace and comfort in memories and each other. God bless you all as well as her amazing, special and loving spirit.

Mrs Mordkoff was my 5th grade teacher, but she was so much more than that to me. She was someone who always made me feel safe and was someone I could always go to. She had so much love to give and would make every child feel as special as if they were her own. She impacted me in such a deep way. I would talk to her about anything and everything. She was like a second mom to me. She even helped me pick a college last year. There are so many aspects of the person I am now, that are because of her. She has given me so many life lessons that I will carry with me forever. I am absolutely heartbroken by the news of her passing but I am sure that her beautiful legacy will live on forever. I sent my love and condolences to her family. She will be forever missed by so many people.

Sending love and deepest condolences to all who loved Michele- her sons, husband, new-found twin sister, all her parents, family and friends. We made friends in 9th grade and found each other again as Facebook friends and at the occasional HS reunion. She was always so positive and full of life and joy, always smiling. I’m sure everyone was so thrilled for her when she found Alison and the rest of her family! May her memory be a blessing - we won’t forget Michele…
