Dorothy Irene Simpson

Simpson, Dorothy Irene – 103, Halifax died May 17th 2012, in the QEII Health Sciences Center with her daughter and granddaughter by her side. She was born in Pleasant River, Queen’s Co. and was the daughter of late Jabey and Idella (Silver) Russell. Predeceased by her husband Oran; brother Melvern; sister Bernice Gillis; infant sister; daughter Joyce Freeman, Kelowna B.C.; and granddaughter Susan Harnish. She leaves behind daughter Madelyne Harnish, Halifax; special nephew Darren Gillis, Winnipeg; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. Mom loved her little home on Chocolate Lake and lived there for 75 years. She was a long time member of Bethany United Church. Visitation will be from 7 – 9 pm, Monday May 21, 2012 in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewoord Drive, Halifax, 902-455-0531. Funeral Service will be 2:30 pm Tuesday May 22, 2012 in Bethany United Church.
