On the night of January 8th, 2024, Harris Garfield Robinson, 90, departed on his final flight to his heavenly home embraced by his loving family. He was a loving father, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of almost 65 years Louise Robinson. His parents, Priscella Robinson (née Osborne) and Henry Thomas Robinson and his brothers, Melvin Robinson and Maxwell Robinson.
He is survived by his three children, Heather, Tracey, and Corey (Lara); his grandchildren Felicity, Hillary, Alex, and Evan; his brother Ellis Robinson (Annie); his brother and sister in law Maxwell Tucker and Faye Tucker; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In 1952, Harris embarked on a remarkable journey in the field of aviation, commencing his career with the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. His early years laid the foundation for what would become a storied and illustrious career in the skies. After dedicating several years to the Royal Canadian Air Force, Harris transitioned to the civilian sector and had an evolving career with Eastern Provincial Airways (EPA), that spanned several decades. Through dedication and hard work, he ascended the ranks to senior management, showcasing his commitment to the field. In 1986, he ventured into new horizons, playing a pivotal role in the establishment of Air Nova, contributing significantly to the success of this enterprise that would evolve into a legacy carrier of Jazz Aviation. His contributions to the industry will be remembered as a testament to a life dedicated to the skies.
Harris met Louise in 1956, and they wed in 1957. Harris found profound happiness and purpose in the role of a father, having been blessed with three wonderful children. His legacy as a loving father will endure through the memories, values, and the enduring love he shared with his children. Being a grandfather gave him a sense of fulfillment and immense joy. The love he had for his grandchildren was boundless, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Harris was a man who had strong faith in God, and was confident that this life was not the end and looked forward to reuniting with his wife.
