Elena has been predeceased by her husband of 64 years Kazys. Loving mother of Juozas, Marijus (Felicija) and Antanas. Močiute to Lukas (Jen), Domas (Leanne), Vincas (Ciara) and Ned. Pro-močiutė to Nora and Jacob. Survived by her loving cousin Vincas (Teresė) in Cleveland. As the last “Gudinskas matriarch” she will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews.
Elena was a life long member of Ateitininkai and served as a mentor to numerous young leaders. She was the co-founder of the Hamilton chapter of Pagalba Lietuvos Vaikams (Lithuanian Children’s Relief). Elena’s dedication to her family and Lithuanian community as well as her passion for crafts, especially hand weaving of sashes, was only outweighed by her love for youth. She was also a key contributor to Our Lady of Mercy Parish liturgical section and unselfishly used her proficiency of the English language to assist elderly members of the Lithuanian community with their various needs.
Special Thanks to PSW’s Julite and Adaora for numerous years of loving home care during her stay in her own home. Thank you to the outstanding Nursing, PSW, Nutrition & other support staff of Wentworth Lodge for their dedicated care and compassion during her stay there! Gratitude to Dr. Singh for medical support! AČIŪ to her 4 angels Danute, Sharon, Dalyte and Žiba for their visits.
