Janja Kelava

October 31, 1929 – November 11, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother Janja Kelava in her 97th year on November 11 2025, with her loving sons Jozo ‘Joe’ and John ‘Ivan’ by her side.

Predeceased by her loving husband Marko Kelava and her precious daughter Rosa Kelava, as well as by her brother and sisters.

Janja will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her, by many extended relatives and friends in Canada and Croatia.

Visitation will be held at Markey Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street E., Hamilton, on Monday, November 17, 2025 from 4-8 PM. A Prayer Service will be held at 5:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Catholic Church, Hamilton on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Burial at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Burlington, to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Holy Cross Croatian Church or Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated.
