Marija Artner

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother; Marija Artner on Friday, May 6, 2022 at the age of 88. Predeceased by her husband Josip (2007) and her son Mladen (2010). Loving mother to Michele Swaile (Tom) and Carol MacDonald (Ross). Adored grandmother to Brandi, Lauren, Kathleen (Melad), Jess, Wesley and Bianca. She will be deeply missed by her brother Ivan (Marjia) as well as extended family and friends in Canada and Croatia. Visitation will be held at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street E. (at Kenilworth) on Wednesday, May 11th from 10am-11:30am. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Church, 1883 King Street E. on Wednesday, May 11th at 12:00pm with Entombment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery, 681 Mud Street Stoney Creek. Special thanks to the staff at Ridgeview LTC for their kind care and compassion given to our mother. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society in Marjia's memory.
