John Peter Nikitas, 74, passed away March 20, 2018. He was born in Newport News and was a resident of Hampton for 70 years. John was a sheet metal fabricator and business owner of CAD Design, Inc. His hobbies included pen making and woodworking. John was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. He graduated from the Newport News Shipyard Apprentice School January 2, 1972.
John was preceded in rest by his wife, Shirley Nikitas. Survivors include his sons, Brian Nikitas and Peter Nikitas; daughter, Carrie Frangowlakis; grandchildren, Brian Nikitas Jr., Dylan Nikitas, Audrianna Nikitas, and Shelby Brickhouse; great-grandchild, Lola Braguglia; sisters, Eva Jewel and Donna Woodard; brother-in-law, Tim Burcham; sister-in-law, Kathy Weir; nephews, Justin Weir and Scotty Burcham; and niece, Bailey Burcham.
A celebration of John’s life will be held 1:00 pm Friday, March 23, 2018 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Hampton-Veterans Memorial Gardens, 155 Butler Farm Road, in Hampton.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be offered to Cure PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy), 1206 York Road, Suite L-4, Lutherville, Maryland 21093.
