Inez Ruiz Mourett

Inez Ruiz Mourett, 90, of Hanford, California, left this world peacefully, on January 4th, 2015, surrounded by her family. Mom was the world to all her children, grand-children, and great-child. Mom was the glue that kept her family together and was always there for them day or night! Mom had strong religious values, prayed the rosary every night and asked the Lord to keep her family safe. Mom will be deeply missed by all!

Mom was born April 20, 1924, in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Contancio and Francisca Ruiz. Mom was born to a very large family of 11 children, so when she had her seven children she knew there would be much love running around her house at all times and never a dull moment!

Mom married the love of her life, Robert Mourett, Sr., on August 31, 1946, the son of the Frank and Refugio Mourett. Mom and Dad were married 68 years and lived in Hanford 80 plus years. Dad built mom a home in 1950, where they resided their married life and raised their seven children.

Mom was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, where she was married and baptized all her children. Mom was a homemaker first of all to all her children, but still found the time to work summers at the Del Monte Cannery, for 50 years, to take care of her children's clothing needs for school. Mom was a dedicated loving mother to her family at all times. Her children's needs always came before hers and she could never say "No" to any of us if we needed help. While raising her children she always had her table full of friends and family and we always told her "Mom, you're always cooking for an army." Believe me everyone knew that because there was always an extra mouth to feed at the table when her children were home...that's because she was known as the best Mexican food cook to everyone!

Mom is survived by 6 of her children, Sharon and son-in-law Mike Harder, Mark Mourett, Sylvia and son-in-law Ron Seaver, Gary Mourett, Georgia and son-in-law Davy Ray Hall, Sr., Deborah Mourett and her partner Betsy Tompkins, Daughter-in-law Chris Mourett, 13 Grand-children, 27 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great-Grandchild and two sisters, Angie Hernandez of San Jose, CA, Alice Trujillo of Phoenix, Arizona. If you wanted to see Mom smile...just have all her family together! Mom was famous for never calling her children by their correct first names (there was so many of us) and it seems it's been passed on to all her children also...because they do it also!

Mom was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Mourett, Sr., her oldest son, Robert Mourett, Jr., her parents Contancio and Francisca Ruiz, her In-laws Frank and Refugio Mourett, seven of her brothers and sisters, Santos Ruiz, Gome Ruiz, Manuel Ruiz, Eddie Ruiz, Frank Ruiz, Henry Ruiz, Concha Montes and Carrie Young.

Services will be held with her son; Robert Mourett, Jr., who preceded her in death on January 2, 2015. A Rosary will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 6:00 P.M. at People's Funeral Chapel; 501 N. Douty Street, Hanford, CA 93230 559-584-5591 with a Mass on Friday, January 23, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Immaculate Heart Of Mary Catholic Church; 10355 Hanford-Armona Road, Hanford, CA 93230 559-584-8576 with Burial to follow at Hanford Cemetery; 10500 S. 10th Avenue, Hanford, CA 93230.
