

James T. Sheehan, 96 of Braintree, passed away on September 8, 2020. Born in Quincy on June 25, 1924, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna T. (Sullivan) Sheehan. James proudly served our country in the United States Army during WWII. After the war, he was a machinist at the Boston Gear Works for 35 years. He enjoyed bowling, hiking, camping and was an avid Red Sox fan. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus of Braintree. Most of all, James loved spending time with his family.
James was the beloved husband of the late Alice (Hines) Sheehan. Devoted father of Richard Sheehan of Braintree, Maura J. Giles and her husband Edward of East Bridgewater and James Sheehan and his partner Laura R. Protzman of Lawrence. Dear brother of Anna Tingley of Braintree and the late Joseph, William, Francis, Edward Sheehan and Elizabeth Caron. Cherished grandfather of Jason Giles of East Bridgewater.
Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 45 East Water St, Rockland on Friday, September 11th from 4-7pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Clare Parish, 1244 Liberty St, Braintree, on Saturday at 10am. Burial to follow with Military Honors at Holy Family Cemetery, 92 Centre Ave, Rockland. In lieu of flowers, donations in James' memory can be made to the Elder Services of Braintree, 1515 Washington St, Braintree MA 02184 or St. Joseph’s Indian School, PO Box 326, Chamberlain, SD 57326.
