Joseph V. Norton

Joseph V. Norton, 89 of Hanson, passed away on March 19, 2017. Born on April 5, 1927 in Boston, he was the son of the late Michael and Delia (Walsh) Norton. Joseph was a Coast Guard Veteran serving on the USS Admiral C. F. Hughes (AP-124) during WWII. He was the owner and President of Norton Electrical Company in South Boston. He was an active member of St. Joseph the Worker Church, Local 103 IBEW, National Electrical Contractors, Assoc., and American Legion Hanson Post. Joseph also enjoyed traveling with his family.

Joseph is survived by his beloved wife Mary (Lyons) Norton. Devoted father of Patricia Keane and husband Kevin and Maura Curran and husband James, all of Hanson. Loving brother of the late Mary Saur and husband Joseph. Cherished grandfather of Brian, Brendan, Conor and Liam Keane, and Joseph, Michael and Caroline Curran. Joseph also leaves his niece Ann Saur and great-nephew Brendan Saur of Hanson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours in St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1 Maquan St. Rte. 14 on Friday, March 24th from 3-7 PM. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's on Saturday at 11AM. Burial in Fern Hill Cemetery, Hanson.
