
Neil graduated from Albion college, BA, 1964 and then went on to University of Michigan to achieve his MBA in 1966 and was then certified as CPA.
He spent most of his career with Fabral (Alcan Aluminum) where he served as CFO.
He was a true Renaissance man. His tenor voice filled churches and homes. He played the piano and danced the waltz. He also knew how to keep the party going with his wit, intelligence, charm, and cocktails. He was always the most handsome man and shining light in the room.
His hobbies included gardening, sailing, reading historical novels, woodworking, model railroads, macrame and stain glass. He loved watching Michigan football and walking with his dog, Autumn.
Neil was known and loved for his kindness and was an upstanding member of the community and involved in the church. He loved life and his family very much. He was appreciated, respected and adored by all who knew him.
Neil is survived by his beloved wife Carol and his daughters Amanda Groty, UK; Christy Causey (Brent), GA; and step-daughters, Molly O'Connor, WA; Shannon Sundquist (Scott), OH and six grandchildren, Hendrix, Jude, Tristan, Jack, Madison and Will.
Neil’s brother C. Keith Groty (Mary) and sister, Donna Cox (Dean) both of MI as well as his former wife Judith Groty, of Lancaster, PA.
A Mass will be held at St Joseph Catholic Church, Lancaster PA, on May 15th at 11:00 AM. Visitations
will be at 10:00. Luncheon will follow the Mass.
