

Anvis was educated in the Harrisburg school district. He later enlisted in the U.S Navy and served from 1977 until 1981.Upon his discharge from the military, he began his working career as a heavy equipment operator of which he worked until his health would no longer permit.
Anvis was kind-hearted and if he called you his friend, he would be there for you, no matter what. He loved to fish and especially enjoyed shooting pool with his friends.
In October of 2003, he united in marriage to his soulmate Andrea Maynard Lockett. Their union would last until the Lord called Anvis home to be with him.
On April 22nd, 2020 at the age of 59,at the Pinnacle Health Hospital, Anvis transitioned from this temporal life to eternal life from the COVID-19 virus, joining his parents and his sister Gloria Jean Lockett. Anvis leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife Andrea, his devoted nephew Damion Lockett, his children, Quent Norman(Marvita),Shawnika Williams, Anvis Lockett Jr.,Takeitha Lockett and Derrick Lockett( Latasha).He is also survived by his grandchildren, Khadijah, RaQuonte, LaQuay,Lashawn, Quannie,Teaqua, Quebenika, Lil Quent Quent,Quentae,Nasir,Heaven,Makiyah,and Miracle, his brother Lawrence Edwards and his sister Andrea Edwards,along with a host of other friends and relatives.
Private funeral services will be held at a later date at Fort Indiantown Gap cemetery with full military honors.
