
She was born on July 8, 1949 in Harrisburg, daughter of the late Lester M. Gluck and Maude Fry Sheaffer.
Barbie attended Lower Dauphin High School class of 1967 and graduated from Central Penn Beauty School in Harrisburg, PA. Barbie was an avid country music fan, her favorites being Willie Nelson and her brother-in-law, local country music artist, Jay Earle Myers. Barbie loved the color pink, people, and flavored coffee. She had a special place in her heart for children, animals, and veterans. Barbie had a delightful sense of humor and a generous heart.
Barbie is survived by her son Michael (Missi) Hand from Palmyra; three granddaughters, Chaney Hand, Kelsey Hand, and Haley Hand; a great grandson, Max; 2 sisters, Peggy Judy from Hummelstown and Rebecca Myers Dice from Palmyra; nieces, Melissa Burrus from Tioga and Debbie Fleagle from Todd; nephews, Bill Judy, Jr. from Millersburg and Bob (Becky) Fleagle from Newport; multiple great nieces and nephews; and special family friends, Ada Espenshade from Hummelstown and Jane Anne Barrows from Todd.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thank you to the staff at Frey Village and Hospice of Central Pennsylvania for their love and care of Barbie and our family during her stay at Frey Village and especially her last days.
