Bernice E. Shade

Bernice E. (Rudy) Shade, 74, of Lower Paxton Twp., died Saturday, March 20, 2010 at the Harrisburg Hospital. She was born December 5, 1935 in Penbrook, the daughter of the late Charles and Lillian (Wertz) Rudy. In earlier years, she worked for the former Bell Telephone Company, but spent her entire life as a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.

She was the widow of Kenneth W. Shade, Sr. Surviving are 3 sons, Ken Shade, Jr. (and companion, Chrissy), Charles "Bud" Shade (and wife, Donna) of Lewisberry, and Robert Shade of Gaithersburg, MD; 3 sisters, Evelyn Ransom of New Freedom, Catherine Nagle of FL and Barbara Rudy of Penbrook; 3 grandchildren, April Swintosky, Charles Shade, II and Justin Shade; 2 great grandchildren, Owen Swintosky and Anna Swintosky.

Funeral services will be held at 12 PM on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at the Zimmerman-Auer Funeral Home, Inc., 4100 Jonestown Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17109. The Rev.M. Robert Green will be officiating.

There will be a viewing from 11 AM to 12 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made the the American Heart Association, 1019 Mumma Rd., Wormleysburg, PA 17043
