Betty Mae Sible

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved mother, Betty Mae Jury Sible, on July 13, 2025. Born on August 9, 1927, to the late Foster Price and Ida Mae Jury, Betty lived a life full of love, kindness, and quiet strength. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest A. Sible Jr., who passed in 1980.

Betty is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Gail Mahoney (husband Jerry) and Lisa Sible Finegan (husband Terry), and her brother Steve Jury (wife Pam). She was also preceded in death by her sister, Patsy Seigler.

She was a devoted MawMaw and Nanny to Lauren and Dan Mahoney, Brendan and Patrick Finegan, and Beth Hartlaub and Katie Wood. Her love lives on through her six cherished great-grandchildren: Heather Freya Barton, Aubrey Sanko, Raidyn, Lily, and Orion Finegan, and Julian Hartlaub.

Betty Mae retired from Melrose School in Harrisburg and was a dedicated member of Fifth Street United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She gave generously of her time, volunteering for many years in the gift shop at Homeland. She found joy in shopping, reading, and sharing laughter with others. Her gentle spirit and loving presence will be deeply missed.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 28, at Penbrook United Church of Christ, 56 Banks Street. Visitation begins at 11:00 a.m., with the service to follow at 11:30 a.m.
