

Bonnie Bonawitz, 74, of Lancaster, passed away on August 22, 2017 at LGH after a short but courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Lancaster to the late John H. Miller and the late Beatrice Benedict Graver.
She attended J.P. McCaskey High School and worked at Anderson Pretzel, Nova, and with International Productions and Associated Promotions which are a part of the Winston Championship Auto shows.
Bonnie was a former member of the Riverside Club and Rainmakers Association. She also enjoyed bowling in a league at Dutch Lanes in her earlier years.
She will be forever missed by her husband of 54 years, Ronald E. Bonawitz Sr., and her children Ronald Bonawitz Jr., husband of Kimberly; Jeffrey, companion of Mandy Clark; and Richard, companion of Kelly Lynes.
She was Nanny to Cody Bresch of Lancaster, Jared Bonawitz of Pittsburgh, and Dylan Bonawitz of Lancaster. One of her proudest moments was Jared’s 2017 graduation from Duquesne University. She was equally proud to see Dylan flourish in kindergarten this past year.
Bonnie is also survived by siblings John Miller, Beatrice Riehl, Richard Miller, Richard Ulmer, David Miller, Roberta DeMascola, Gary Miller, and Hayden Graver, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister Sandy Arnold.
Per Bonnie’s wishes there will not be a funeral. A celebration of her life gathering will be held on Saturday October 21, 2017 from 1-5pm at the Riverside Club, 730 E. Strawberry St., Lancaster.
