Carmela T. Hetes

Carmela T. (Pellegrini) Hetes, passed away 09/20/2019. Born 10/15/1929, she was a daughter of the late Lucia (DiCamillo) and Rafealle Pellegrini. Carmela was the loving wife of Gilbert A. Hetes for over 68 years; sister of Lydia Diveglia of Mechanicsburg and Eleanor Nibert of Westland, MI; mother to Thomas (Karen) Hetes of Kissimee, FL, Rita Lengel of Enola, Maria (John) Gilbert of Batesville, IN, Loretta (Keith) Demmy, James Hetes, Ray Hetes, all of Harrisburg, and Cathy Foose of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandmother of 10; and great-grandmother of 18. She was preceded in death by sons, Matthew and Christopher.

She graduated from Harrisburg Catholic, Class of 1947 and waitressed for many years at the Holiday Inn Downtown. She also worked at Wannamakers, JC Pennys, and the Eric. Carmela loved visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren especially at the Shore. She was a founding member of Holy Family Parish in Harrisburg.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Spring Creek McBride, 2nd Floor for their kindness and the fine comfort care they provided Carmela during her stay.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 5, 2019, 11AM, at Holy Family Church, 555 S 25th St, Harrisburg, PA 17104. Visitation will be from 10-11AM at the church. Inurnment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Harrisburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her church, addressed above.
