Carol Jean Kauffman Snyder

Carol Jean Snyder aged 74, loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend died peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends after an extended illness. Carol was the daughter of John and Anna Kauffman and sister to Ross and William Kauffman. After graduating from Middletown High School, Carol attended the Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing where she graduated from in 1962. While enrolled at school Carol met the love of her life Donald Snyder, they celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary last year. Carol and Don have two children, (CW4 Ret) Donald Snyder Jr. and Sherry Snyder-Anderson. Their home was often the place to "hang out" and Carol enjoyed hosting the slew of children that gathered. Carol went on to obtain her masters in health services administration and in 2005 she retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Health. In retirement she spent time with her four grandchildren: Dr. Samantha Snyder, Taylor Snyder, Evan Anderson, and Kacy Anderson. Retirement also left time for traveling the globe which Carol loved to do, she ventured to many exotic places. Carol was an active member of Stone Glen Church of God, the Harrisburg Hospital Nurses Alumni Association, and she worked part time as a realtor. Words cannot express how wonderful a woman Carol was. She will be sorely missed. Her funeral will be held at Stone Glen Church of God in Dauphin, PA on Saturday March 12, 2016 at 10:30 am.
