Catherine (Caye) Cunningham Carson Brubaker went to be with her Lord on April 21, 2025. Born on June 16, 1936, in Augusta, Georgia, Caye was the beloved and only child of Kathryn Cunningham and Francis Bonneau Carson. She spent her youth in the Deep South, mainly Savannah, Georgia, where she developed her lifelong love of the Tybee marshes, swimming, and entertaining. Caye traveled the world with her young family, often camping and road tripping throughout Europe. In Newport News, she sold real estate and logged many miles going to her daughters’ swim meets and as their Girl Scout leader.
In 1976, she relocated to Lancaster, PA, and married the love of her life, William “Bill” Levi Brubaker. They shared a passion for nature at their mountain cabin in Lewisburg, trail rides in Wyoming and Montana, and making annual fishing trips to Canada. Caye worked alongside her husband in the family business, Master Farmer Products. Together, they held home bible studies, sponsored missionaries, and traveled to other churches with the Faith Alive program.
She is predeceased by her husband, William Levi Brubaker and leaves behind to cherish her memory, three daughters, Cathryn (Edwin) Sawyer, Gainesville, GA; Ginger (Pat) Conner, Becket, MA; Marian Barber, Oakland, CA (attended high school at Manheim Township), three step-children: David and Michael Brubaker, Lancaster, PA and Rosemary Alford, Mexico; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and her sweet friend Helen Howard. The family would like to thank the Glen fifth-floor staff at Willow Valley and the Hospice and Community Care pink team who attended to Caye with such love and care.
Her graveside service will be held at Ascension Lutheran Church, Willow Street, PA, on May 18th at 11 am.
