Catherine “Cassie” Stack Hyatt, 73, of Lancaster, PA and formerly of St. Petersburg, Florida left this world on February 18, 2025, just shy of her 74th birthday. Cassie was a kind, generous, and loving woman who touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born in Pittsburgh on March 8, 1951, Cassie faced early hardships with resilience and grace. After losing her mother at a young age, she was raised by her devoted Irish Catholic father, alongside her siblings, aunts, uncles, and many cousins. Surrounded by family, she grew into a strong, compassionate woman with a deep sense of duty and adventure.
At a young age, she answered the call to serve her country, enlisting in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. After her honorary discharge, she continued volunteering to comfort soldiers who were injured in the war. This is where she met the love of her life, Larry Hyatt who predeceased her in 1990. Her commitment to supporting Vietnam veterans remained a lifelong passion, and she proudly wore her Vietnam Veteran attire as a symbol of that devotion.
Beyond her military service, Cassie had a way of making people feel valued, always ready with a comforting word, an outstretched hand, or a perfectly timed joke. Whether volunteering in her community, lending a listening ear, or just being there, she made the world a better place simply by being in it.
She is survived by many family members and friends who will forever treasure the memories of her kindness, humor, and unwavering love. Though she is no longer with us, we find comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved husband, parents, and many cherished family members, watching over us with love and peace.
