Charles H. Shearer

He was born January 11, 1937, in Harrisburg.

Charles was a graduate of Susquehanna Twp. High School and Albright College. He attended seminary at Temple University and graduated from the Moravian Seminary. He received his Master's Degree from Mt. Airy Theological Seminary.

He was a pastor at E.U.B. Churches in Allentown, Hegins, and Muir, as well as U.M.Churches in Harrisburg, Linglestown, Mechanicsburg, and Royalton. After his retirement from the U.M. Church, he went into missionary services. Charles was the Director of Church Relations for China Outreach Ministries and Mission's Pastor at New Love in Christ Church. He was a member of PIAA; was a referee for basketball; and umpired for baseball and softball.

In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by his daughters, Karen A. Shearer of Casselberry, FL, and Susan J. Ottaway (Nick) of Highspire; sister, Mary A. Fegan (Paul) of Harrisburg; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a niece; and a nephew.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 27, 2014, 3:00 PM, at New Love in Christ Church, 6003 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17112.
