Chris was a friend of my parents, so I grew up with him. He came around often, so he was a huge part of my childhood. I always had a good time with him and loved him a lot. Somehow we got separated, so I hadn't seen him in a very long time. I always thought about him a lot, and wondered how we was doing. It's really heartbreaking to hear this. I'll miss him very much.

I knew Chris a long long time and we had a lot of good times together.  We had bad times toether.  There were times I felt like smacking him....lol... He knew my family and he watched my daughters grow up but he was a very  good friend.  We will all miss you dearly.  Rest in peace my friend.

Chris, I don’t even know where to start.. my heart is still heavy! I can’t believe you’re gone. I’ve known you for years and was so excited you came into my life. Having you as a step dad was such a blessing. You were more of a father figure than my own dad. When you and my mother divorced, you were still there and didn’t walk away from us. You always told me you don’t have to be blood to be family. I will never forget the day you told me that. You were always there when needed especially when it came to your grandkids. We miss you terribly! Feels so out of place not receiving a message asking to see “your buddies” or asking how they are doing. I call your phone just to hear your voice. 

We love you, until we meet again.

I first met Chris in school in the '70s.
We attended each other weddings.
He has lived in my house.
 We have spent many an hour fishing
We have spent many a night drinking
There have been many instances of my call log showing 2-plus hour calls.

I'm waiting for it.
I know it's going to hit me hard.
Reaching for my phone to call him and realizing I can't.
Rest in peace my friend until we meet again.

My blessing is with the family. Chris was a great friend great neighbor we talked a lot about politics, had cookouts, serious talks funny dogs, driven places together I could talk to him about anything and he could talk to me about anything he never judge the soul in his life. He would have gave ûhis shirt off his back to anyone. When he would go to the pow wow he'd come back tell me all about it he was a wonderful person. He will be really missed and has been missed. I come out of my house and I have to look his way all I see is his truck in the driveway and it's not the same I don't see them out smoking a cigarette and waving to me like you did talking to my kids and everything even my other family.
