

Colin Jack Seifert, aged 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, surrounded by his children and partner, in Hanover, PA. Colin, fondly known as Jack, was born on June 25, 1940, in York, PA, to Morgan and Mildred Seifert.
Jack spent his childhood alongside his siblings: Donna Smith, Morgan Seifert, Sheila Updike, Owen Seifert, and James Seifert. He attended Dover High School and proudly joined the Navy where he served for 5.5 years on the USS Shenandoah AD-26.
Jack's entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish Jack’s Door, a business dedicated to installing automatic doors in buildings along the East Coast. He developed a switch and relay system to operate the doors ahead of a computerized standard.
A snowbird splitting his time between Hanover, PA, and Clearwater, FL, Jack was always in motion pursuing his passions and hobbies, enjoying multiple projects at any given time. He was an avid steam engine collector and rebuilder, a sprint car racing enthusiast and team sponsor, and a craftsman in woodworking and glassworking. He also found joy in collecting and touring BMW motorcycles and had a love for bluegrass music.
Jack is survived by his beloved partner of 20 years, Faye Wentz. He leaves behind his dear children: Scott Seifert (Wendi), Brenda Brady, and Sherri Strausbaugh (Thomas). He also leaves his grandchildren Heather Brady, Cynthia Lewis (Dustin), and Amanda Bernhard (Benjamin), as well as his great-grandchildren Landon Lewis and Adalyn Lewis.
Additionally, he leaves behind Faye’s family with whom he had a strong bond: Lori Lochbaum (Barry), and Stacy Motter (Scott) and grandchildren Chelsea Lochbaum, Chloe Janiszewski (Dom), Peyton Motter, and Jordan Motter.
Jack will be dearly missed by countless friends in both his Pennsylvania and Florida communities as well as friends throughout the US and Canada.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Morgan and Mildred, and siblings James Seifert, Donna Smith, Morgan Seifert, and Sheila Updike.A memorial service to honor Jack's life will be held on July 20th at the Hanover Church of the Brethren, located at 601 Wilson Avenue, Hanover, PA .In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of choice in Jack’s name.
Jack's warmth, generosity, dedication to his family and friends, and admiration by all and humor touched many lives and he will be remembered with love who knew him.
