Constance L. “Connie” Ross, 93, of Camp Hill, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Williamsport, PA, on March 19, 1932, Connie was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was known for her kind heart, sharp wit, and spirited personality. She enjoyed singing, dancing, and playing BINGO—often joking that she never got the “right cards.” A fan of the Game Show Network and a loving companion to her dog Bella, Connie brought joy and warmth to everyone she met. She always carried Werther’s hard candies in her pockets, generously sharing them with everyone around her.
Connie was employed by the State Employment Retirement System and later worked at the Class Six Store at the New Cumberland Army Depot. Above all, her greatest joy in life was her family, and she devoted herself to them with love and care.
She is survived by her children: Lawrence Kessinger and his wife Jane of Shiremanstown, PA; Kimberlee Runkle and her partner Walter Carnish of Camp Hill, PA; Kevin Ross of Enola, PA; and her stepson, Richard Ross of Texas. She also leaves behind her sister, Martha Jean Taylor of Williamsport, PA.
Connie was a proud grandmother to Jennifer Hurd and her partner Stephen Rotay of Lancaster, PA; Christopher Runkle of Camp Hill, PA; Dan Ross and his wife Kristin of New Braunfels, TX; Sierra Selfridge and her husband Zach of Carlisle, PA; Mathew Kessinger and his wife Marissa of Mechanicsburg, PA; William Ross of Huntingdon, PA; and Amanda Lawrence and her husband Jim of Danville, IA.
She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Gideon Selfridge, Devin Hurd, Dallas Kessinger, Zayden and Leland Lawrence, Margot and Charlie Ross, as well as her cherished great-great-granddaughter, Kinsley Bair.
Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Erman Dale Ross; her parents, Lawrence T. and Gladys E. Cahn; her son, Gregory Kessinger; her grandson, Caleb Ross; and her sisters, Betty Lou Seitzer and Patricia Reinhart.
A private funeral service honoring Connie’s life will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Dementia Society of America.
Your Hug Meant the World
No one held me quite so tight,
Or made the world feel so right.
No eyes shone with love so true,
Like yours, dear Mom — I miss you.
Now you're watching from above,
Surrounding me with endless love.
Though you're gone, your warmth remains —
In every hug, through joy and pain.
