
Doris B. Harley, 92, of Messiah Village entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Messiah Village. She was married to Isaiah B. Harley for 69 years. Born in Ramona, Kansas, she was the daughter of Samuel W. and Lillie E. Brehm. In addition to her husband, Isaiah, she will be deeply missed by her son, Michael Harley; daughter in law, Sue Harley; three grandchildren; Deann Quigley, wife of Matthew, Carlisle, Delynn Bickle, wife of Michael, Dillsburg and Brooke Eckert, wife of Andrew of Dillsburg. She was very fond of her grandchildren and her seven great grandchildren. She was the youngest of ten children, Irma Saltzman, Faithe Carlson, Eldred Brehm, Zenas Brehm, Clare Brehm, Pearl Wolgemuth, Thural Brehm, Ferne Snider, and Kathryn Mell. All have preceded her in death as well as her daughter, Cheryl D. Saylor.
Doris was most noted for her creative artistic flower designs and arrangements. She worked for Pealer's Flowers for 20 years, 3 years at J C Snyder Florist and at Aschombes for 5 years. Much of her work as a floral designer could be found at banquet tables, craft fairs and throughout her home. She also liked to entertain and was a wonderful cook and mother. She was a faithful member of the Grantham Brethren In Christ Church.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Doris' memorial service at Messiah Village Chapel, 100 Mt. Allen Road, Mechanicsburg, PA on Friday, May 7th. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10.30a.m. and the service will be at 10:30a.m. Interment will follow the service at Grantham Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Doris' name may be made to the Endowment Fund of Messiah Village.
