Dorothy Lorraine Kemery

Dorothy Lorraine Kemery, 91, of Lititz and Lancaster, PA went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Trillium Place, Lancaster. She was a resident of Calvary Homes in Lancaster and passed away after a very short stay in the hospital and hospice.

Lorraine was the loving wife of the late Stanley L. Kemery who passed away in 2019. Stan and Lorraine were married 60 years, commencing on June 27, 1958 at the Naval Chapel, San Diego Navy Base CA. She was a faithful member of Calvary Church of Lancaster since 1974, where she served as a volunteer in the nursery.

Lorraine will be greatly missed by her two sons Todd Kemery of Shakopee MN, Mya Kemery of Minneapolis MN, and Barry & Heather Kemery of Taneytown MD and grandsons Garrett Kemery and Clayton Kemery of Columbia MD.

Lorraine was the daughter of the late E. Harris and Dorothy Ransom (Loveland) of Moorestown NJ. Born March 27, 1933 in Mount Holly NJ, she was the eldest of three sisters and two brothers and is survived by Geraldine Walton Lynchburg VA; Adele Lenher Wellsboro PA; Harris Ransom Moorestown NJ and Gary Ransom Elizabethtown PA.

Lorraine graduated from Presbyterian School of Nursing, Philadelphia PA and was commissioned into the United States Navy. Her duty station was the San Diego Naval Base where she served as a Lieutenant. She went on to provide nursing services in each community that she moved to including Kotzebue Public Health Hospital, Kotzebue AK; Josephine Memorial Hospital, Grants Pass OR; and Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster PA, retiring in 1998.
