Born November 2, 1934 (Pittsburgh, PA) – Passed November 6, 2024 (Harrisburg, PA)
Dorothy carried a card that defined her name as “Gift of God”. It also quoted Psalm 27:1 … “The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?”
Dorothy lived her life accordingly. Those who knew her would most likely chuckle, then with loving-kindness state that she feared no earthly being. She lived by faith and her trust in our Lord above.
She was feisty, quick-witted, fun-loving, strong-willed in her protection of family, and a warrior for Christ.
Dorothy did many things throughout her life, but the most meaningful was serving our Lord and enjoying fellowship at the South Hills Assembly of God for 20+ years. She completed the Bethel Bible Series, was a faithful member of the Prayer Team, and created and managed the “Alive at Five” group, sharing many activities, overnight trips, and memorable fellowship. Upon moving to Harrisburg, PA, she continued her worship with the Trinity Presbyterian Church.
Dorothy loved spending time with family in Deep Creek, MD, Cape May, NJ, visiting her grandsons in Harrisburg, PA, a trip to Hawaii with her late-mother, and a very inspirational trip to Israel.
She loved life. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, she was an avid Steelers fan throughout her life. While living in Kentucky, Dorothy enjoyed watching horses at Keeneland, and of course the Kentucky Derby. She loved entertaining, water skiing, snow skiing, gardening, crafting, golf, and tennis. Upon moving back to Pennsylvania, she enjoyed wildlife, whether she was watching a variety of birds visiting the feeders, watching deer that traveled thru the back yard daily, taking day trips to Lake Tobias Wildlife Park in Halifax, PA, or the South Park Game Preserve to feed ducks and observe the buffalo.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Alfed S. Daum, father (1978) and Dorothy S. Daum, mother (2001); and her beloved son, John F. Wagner (1978), affectionately known as “Jackie”.
Dorothy is survived and will be missed by: Dorothy (Dodi) T. Schneider, daughter; Brian Schneider, grandson (Ashley Bienk, Fiancé), Jonathan Schneider, grandson (Kacey Baker Schneider, wife; Zoe M. Schneider, great-granddaughter; Dean E. Schneider, great-grandson); Gary A. Daum, brother (Linda, wife), Ronald Daum, brother (Andi, wife), Marilyn Daum MacKay, sister (J. D MacKay, husband), and many nieces and nephews.
