Earl Floyd Chronister Jr.

Earl F. Chronister, Jr., 80, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025 at UPMC Harrisburg

Hospital. Born March 5, 1945 in York, PA, he was the son of the late Earl F., Sr. and Bettie

M. (Dennis) Chronister. He was the husband of Rodney R. Bickert. They were together for

40 years.

Earl graduated from Dallastown Area High School in 1963. He was employed in various

positions including technical services and acquisitions at Dauphin County Library System

at Walnut Street in Harrisburg. Also, engraving at Smith Advertising and Lee Wayne

Corporation in Dillsburg. In addition to enjoying time with his family, he also loved model

railroading and flower gardens.

There will be no viewing. Following cremation with Cremation and Burial Society of PA,

Inc., a private burial will be held at a future date at Greenmount Cemetery of York.

Mr. Chronister is survived by his husband, a sister, Peggy Lauer and husband, John of

Gettysburg, a sister-in-law, Phyllis M. Roeder of Candler NC, two nephews, John T Lauer, II

and wife Anna of Lititz, Michael L. Roeder of Ringwood NJ, three nieces, Wendy D. du Bois

and husband, Philippe of Gettysburg, Lori A. Levan and husband, Jeff of Catawissa,

Michele M. Roeder and wife, Lisa Von Dohlen of Candler NC.
