

Born January 8, 1928 in Lancaster, he was a son of Elion and Esther (Senseing) Wentzel.
Mr. Wentzel retired in 1991 as regional supervisor for Excello/Elopak, Inc. and he enjoyed traveling the world with his job.
He was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran.
Elion was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother.
Surviving are seven children, Elion (Janice) Wentzel, Jr. of Harrisburg, Brenda Turner of Holtwood, Steven (Tina) Wentzel, of Harrisburg, Thomas (Tina) Wentzel of Lancaster, Tina (Richard) Canulli of Hummelstown, Scott (Christine) Wentzel of Harrisburg, and Duane (Lynette) Wentzel of Middletown; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Robert W. Wentzel of Halifax and John Wentzel of New Hampshire.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Barbara Ann Kirsch, on October 31, 2009; a sister, Mary Kirk; and a son-in-law, Thelbert Turner.
In keeping with Mr. Wentzel's wishes, funeral arrangements are private. Interment will be in Centre Union Cemetery, E. Earl, Pa.
