YORK – Gerald William Eppley (Jerry), age 81, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2024. He was the son of the late William W. and Anna C. (Barnes) Eppley. He was born in Alexandria, Virginia on November 10, 1942.
Jerry graduated from Northeastern High School in 1960 and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in History from University of Tampa in 1968. He worked at the York Haven Paper Mill after graduation. He began working at Caterpillar Tractor in 1972 and retired in 1998.
Jerry is survived by four sisters, Sandra Anthony of Jacksonville, NC; Mary Ann Wotherspoon, York, PA; Irene Fisher of South Lyon, MI; and Christine Crone of Glen Rock, PA.
Jerry was a genealogy enthusiast and Civil War buff. He enjoyed his music and played the piano and organ very well. He was also known for his pie baking.
Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 7, at 11 a.m. at Shiloh UCC, 2251 Willow Rd., York PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or the Pappus House, 66 Big Mt. Rd, Thomasville, PA
