John J. Dolan

1936 – 2025

John J. Dolan, 89, of New Holland, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025.

Born in West Virginia in 1936, John was the son of the late Joseph and Barbara Dolan. He was one of four boys and is survived by his brothers Jim, Tom, and Joe.

John graduated Dental School at the University of New York at Buffalo in 1962. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for two years as a dentist before establishing a dental practice in Oreland, Pennsylvania, where he cared for patients for 35 years.

In 1962, John married the love of his life, Nancy Jane (Kornbau) Dolan. They shared 63 wonderful years together until Nancy’s passing on August 25, 2025. Together they raised four children: Kathleen (Kevin Tillery), Christopher, Andrew (Theresa), and Peter (Susan).

John and Nancy were devoted grandparents to Ashley (Aviv), Mickey (Jordan), Nick, Ted, Natalie, Claudia, Eddie and great-grandparents to Maverick, Crew, and Ayla.

John and Nancy moved to Pottstown in 2000 and later to Garden Spot Village in New Holland in 2013, where they made many treasured friendships.

A man of many talents, John loved singing—especially barbershop harmony—and enjoyed tinkering, woodworking, wood carving, and crafting instruments such as violins, and mandolins. He also played piano and stringed instruments, delighting friends and family alike.

Faith was central to John and Nancy’s lives. They served as lectors Holy Martyrs, St. Peter’s, St. Aloysius’, and Our Lady of Lourdes parishes.

A Funeral Mass for John and Nancy will be celebrated at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish in Limerick (Schwenksville), Pennsylvania at on Friday September 26 at 11:00 AM with a viewing starting at 9:30 AM though 10:45 AM. Family and friends are invited to celebrate and pray for John and Nancy at that time.
