John P. White

He was born on September 7, 1933. He was the son of the late John P. White, Sr. and Isabel Elizabeth (Redfern) White. He retired from Conrail with 43 years of service. He was a veteran in the U.S. Army and served his country during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed gardening, bowling, hunting, and all outdoor activities as well as antique collecting. He loved laughing with company, was highly competitive, and always had a smile on his face.

He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Charlene G. (Fitting) White; and a sister, Rosemary White.

Surviving are daughters, Lori Ferree of York Haven and Michelle Collins of Etters and Elizabeth Ann Soper of Las Cruces, NM; son, John P. White, III of Lewisberry; sister, Constance Kister of DuBois; brothers, Robert White, Sr. of York Haven, Storme White of York Springs, and Timothy White, Sr. of New Cumberland; grandchildren, Kristy Smith, Julie Forry, Abby Robinson, and Lacey Markel; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for both John and Charlene will be held on Friday, February 25, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Tri County Memorial Gardens in Lewisberry. Friends and family may gather at John's residence following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
