

Joseph Belmont of Harrisburg, PA, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2024, at the age of 96. Born on August 17, 1927, Joe lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to his family.
Joe was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and Notre Dame Football. He found immense joy in cheering on his favorite teams, and his passion for sports was matched only by his love for his family. For Joe, the greatest moments in life were the times spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Whether it was a holiday gathering or a simple dinner, Joe cherished every opportunity to be surrounded by those he loved.
Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bertha Belmont.
Joe proudly served his country in the United States Army, bravely participating in both World War II and the Korean War. His time in the military shaped his character, instilling in him a deep sense of duty, honor, and resilience. He carried these values with him throughout his life, earning the respect and admiration of all who knew him.
He is survived by his four daughters and son, Renee Ann Vaughn (William) of Harrisburg, PA, Lynn Ann Nolan of Harrisburg, Grace Ann Kostelnick (Dave) of Allentown, PA, Cheryl Ann Belmont of New Jersey, Joseph J. Belmont (Kelli) of Harrisburg; 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild who will forever remember him as a loving and devoted patriarch, Dad and Pappy.
Family and friends will be received at Cremation & Burial Society of Pennsylvania, 4100 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17109 Friday August 23, 2024 from 9:30-11:00 AM.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, August 23, 2024, at 12:00 PM at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA 1711. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery will follow the Mass.
