

He was retired from Halls Motor Freight, Hampton Township.
He graduated from John Harris High School, Harrisburg.
Joe enjoyed Motown music especially (The Magnificent Men) hunting, fishing, singing, football, and horse racing. Joe was an avid Notre Dame and Dallas Cowboy fan.
Joe was born in Harrisburg to the late Joseph and Ruth (Kone) Sersch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather Jerald Atkins, and sister Christine Raymond.
He is survived by his companion Carmen Querubin and his children, Joseph A. Sersch III of Etters and Aimee Zeiders (Herman) of Fairview Township; his brother Mark Sersch (Yvonne) of New Cumberland; sister Cindy Zeigler (Gary) of New Cumberland and five grandchildren, Gracie, Zakary, L.J., Zoie, and Annaleigh; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A mass will be celebrated at Saint Theresa's Church New Cumberland November 5, 2016 at 11:00 am following there will be a celebration of Joe's life at the Verhovay Home Association, 1012 S. 29th St. Harrisburg.
