Joseph X. Lilley

Joseph X. Lilley, 88, of Carlisle and formerly of Highspire, died Monday, December 28, 2009 at the Church of God Nursing Home. He was born on December 2, 1921 to the late Joseph B. Lilley and Rosie Z. Davis. Joe was an Army Veteran and served in WWII. He was a retired roller engineer in the iron and steel industry and later a retired maintenance employee from Polyclinic Hospital in Harrisburg. A fan of country and gospel music, he was also a guitarist and self-taught harmonica player.

He was preceded in death by sisters Francis A. Hagenberger, with whom he lived for many years, and May Howell. He is survived by a brother, Sylvester B. Lilley, and sisters Myrtle M. Lineaweaver, Edith I. Williamson, and Rose Z. Edmundson.

Cremation arrangements by Auer Cremation Services of PA, Inc., Harrisburg, PA, followed by interment at Duncannon Union Cemetery.
