Joyce L. Gardner

She was born April 11, 1940, in Mt. Airy, MD. The daughter of the late Frances Pickett (Moxley) and Foard Hood. She moved to Central PA in 1961 and shortly thereafter became an H&R Block Franchise owner for over 50 years. One of her proudest moments was when she was recognized as Franchisee of the year with H&R Block. She was passionate about her work and her clients, of which many became her extended family. She enjoyed traveling and making apple butter with her family and many friends.

She was an active member of the American Legion Post 26 in Dillsburg, always volunteering and lending a hand. Her life accomplishments are way too many to mention.

She is survived by her life partner Jerry Bordner. Her sister Janet Barnes. Her 4 daughters, Christa Boyer, Anita Winter (Keister), husband Dale Winter, Carla Keister, wife Claudia Branco, and Vanessa Campbell, husband Ray Campbell. 9 grandchildren, Salina Harris, Don Fahnestock Jr., Richard Thiel, Stephanie Thiel, Robert Thiel, Maria Keister, LeAnn Chamberlin, Heather Whittaker, Merri-Frances Dmitrzak and 15 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life is planned for February 2 at 2:00 pm at the Dillsburg American Legion Post 26.
