

Judy was born on July 1st, 1937, to John and Dora (Gardner) Tanzi in Hanover, New Hampshire. Judy graduated from Hanover High School in 1955 where she was an athlete excelling in figure skating, swimming, golf, tennis and became an instructor in swimming and figure skating.
After high school graduation, Judy met Robert E. Browne while he was attending Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH. They were married for 18 years and had three children: Allison Anne Browne, Robert Christopher Browne and Steven Marshall Browne. Judy and Bob lived in several areas, including Canton, NY where Judy devoted a large portion of her time raising her children, taking the boys to hockey and baseball and Allison to horseback riding lessons.
Judy returned to the Upper Valley, NH where she worked in real estate. In 1983, she met Richard Laux, and they wed on July 4th, 1985. Shortly after, Richard and Judy moved to South Carolina, Marco Island, and later Estero, Florida. She was an avid golfer, shell collector, loved her fishing trips with Capt. Dick in the Gulf, enjoyed cooking and entertaining her many friends in her community at Breckenridge. She even ran a cooking column sharing her favorite recipes.
After Richard’s passing, Judy spent her summers on Drake’s Island, ME where she enjoyed visiting her New England family and walking the beaches and collecting shells. Her shell collection was spectacular! Eventually she moved back to NH briefly, and then lived at Leisure World in Silver Spring, Maryland for 7 years. Judy’s final residence was at the Homeland Center in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her sister, Diane Kirchwey. Judy will be deeply missed by her children Allison, of Claremont, NH, Chris and his wife Lisa, of Sherman’s Dale, PA, and Steven, and his wife Jennifer of Glenwood, MD; along with her 4 grandchildren, Ryan, Christopher, Gabrielle and Olivia, 3 great grandchildren, Ryleigh, Paxton, and Clara as well as sisters, June Salvail and Jennifer Jacobsen, and Dick’s daughter Mary Laux. She also leaves behind her best friend, her beloved cat, Emmy.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at the Pine Knoll Cemetery in Hanover, New Hampshire on 28 September 2024 at 2pm at the Tanzi burial site. Following the ceremony, friends and family are gathering for reception at the Harpoon Brewing Company in Windsor, Vermont between 5 and 7pm.
