Kenneth “Ken” Francis Seetoo, 82, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday July 1st, 2025. A dedicated father, grandfather, fisherman, chef, military man, and loving husband lived a life full of love, tradition, family, and curiosity.
Born on August 5th, 1942 in New York City, New York, Ken was the son of the late Francis and Betty (Chin) Seetoo. He began his career at a young age, when he went to work in Len Fong a, Chinese restaurant in Upper Manhattan, to help provide for his family. His career continued in the restaurant industry, and his work culminated his life-long passion for cooking. Ken’s relentless work ethic and profound devotion to his family made him the embodiment of a true family man, as he would stop at no boundary to provide for his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Ken began his military service at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, in 1964. He later served in the Vietnam War as a part of the 62nd Military Police Platoon for 10 months. Ken was very proud of his time in the military and took great pride in serving his country. Before retiring in 1966, Ken achieved the rank of Specialist Four (SP4) and was honorably discharged.
Ken married his life-long partner, Vivian Dong, in 1969, and together they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and shared culture. Vivian worked for the New York City Board of Education from 1979 until 2002.
Together, they raised their two sons, Kurt and Gregory Seetoo, and later took great pride in becoming grandparents. Their grandchildren brought a new light into their lives, and they cherished every moment spent teaching, nurturing, and laughing with them.
Nothing brought Ken more pride than watching his grandchildren grow. Kurt and his wife Jackie’s daughters: Renee, Cayla, and Olivia; and Greg and Pamela’s children: Micah, Josiah, and Emilia.
Anchored in his Christian faith, Ken now cooks for the angels and casts his line in heaven’s golden ponds. From above, he watches over his beloved wife, children, and grandchildren, until the day they are joyfully reunited.
