Kevin Raymond Doyle of Hummelstown passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025 in the UPMC Community Osteopathic hospital ICU after suffering a debilitating stroke. He was 66.
Kevin was born and raised in Harrisburg and graduated from Vo-Tech high school. He lived in Hummelstown for 48 years but had recently downsized to a smaller place in Middletown due to mobility issues.
He was close to his parents Frank (d 2005) and Joan (d 2017) in both work and play. He learned his craft as a self-employed general contractor from Frank. They were all fans of watching Phillies games on TV outside on the patio. The family spent Christmas together without fail, which included all the generous bounties Joan could offer to family and friends.
Kevin honed his craft as a guitarist and vocalist and played in many local bands and clubs throughout the years. His taste in music was diverse, but he especially liked the Grateful Dead, the Allman Brothers, and the blues. He also had a great passion for fishing, boating, and being on the water. Kevin had a great sense of humor. He was also an adventurous cook, and he loved all sports.
He is survived by his brother David, his sister Lisa, and his nephew Joshua.
A casual celebration of life gathering is planned for Saturday, April 5 from 5–11 pm at the Middletown Anglers & Hunters Association, 1350 Schoolhouse Rd, Middletown, PA 17057. Bring stories, pictures, and instruments for an open-mike jam. There will be food and a cash bar. Contact Lisa for questions at 650-284-6799.
