

Larry was a 1955 Graduate of Central Dauphin High School, it is very first, after spending much of his school years at the Oberlin School. He was also a graduate of the Williamsport Technical School, with a degree in Electrical Engineering. After graduating he worked for Lafayette Electronics installing sound systems in schools all over the Central PA area. He was offered a position as a Research Analyst for Amp Inc from whom he retired in 1998 after 30 years of service. Larry was also a veteran of the Pennsylvania National Guard, spending 5 years in active service, and was honorably discharged.
Larry was the owner of 5 US patents for electronics.
Larry was a 40-year member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Progress Ave. Harrisburg, where he served on the Church Council and was the building’s manager. He and his wife made Chocolate Easter Eggs for the church for well over 25 years. Larry was also the king of chopping onions for Octoberfest at the Church for many years.
Larry loved to travel and was a great photographer and made great spaghetti sauce. He was also an accomplished leather worker. He made many belts, wallets, and a purse. The yearly food fest to Myrtle Beach, to the grand trips to Europe that he and his wife made. They traveled for the food, the people, and the enjoyment of the trips. When not traveling, he could also fix anything. Larry loved British Television, especially the Detective shows, and almost any comedy.
Larry was preceded in death by his wife Earline (Gunther-Junkins), a daughter-in-law Terri Wilt, and Son John Junkins.
He is survived by his son Dennis C Wilt of Enola (Jodi Smeltzer fiancé) , his grandsons Craig A Wilt and Tyler D Wilt; both of Enola PA; Daughter Joanne E Magee (Steve) of Duncannon and grandson Patrick T Magee (Andrea) of Carlisle; Granddaughters Hannah K and Kelley V Magee of Duncannon. He is also survived by his sister Sheryl A Keyser (Frank) of Middletown, a nephew Brian Keyser (Diana). An ‘extra’ granddaughter Paige N. Paese (Vincent) of Harrisburg; as well as cousins in Blain, Perry Co. A special mention to his food companion for the last 15 years Winnie Moose of Oberlin.
A memorial service will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 420 North Progress Ave. Harrisburg PA, Monday November 25, 2024, at 11am. The family will receive visitors from 10-11am at the church.
