Lonnie Lee Collins

Born July 18, 1947 in Greenville, South Carolina, he was a son of Benjamin Lee and Betty Loraine (Homer) Collins.

Mr. Collins retired last month from Fed-Ex, after a long career of truckdriving, delivery and courier service.

He enjoyed canoeing, kayaking, fishing, video games, music of Belize, and enjoyed watching boxing.

On March 31, 1985 in Middletown, he married the former Rosemary Shoeman, who survives along with a son, Brian Loren Collins of Enola; three daughters, Tammy Marie Dagrosa of Mechanicsburg, Sherry Lynn Williams of Enola, and Brandi Laureen Pennypacker of Lebanon; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and two brothers, Terry and Jeff Collins, both of Duncannon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Lonnie Lee Collins, Jr. in 1997 and Jason George Collins in 2007.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Zimmerman-Auer Funeral Home, Inc., 4100 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg, with Margaret Shoeman officiating. Interment will follow in Highspire Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the hour of services.
